Before: Previous owner thought that black electrical tape made good handlebar tape. Plus the saddle was mighty uncomfortable (and not because I had it at that angle).

When I look in the mirror and push my hair back, I see my granddad looking back at me. And it terrifies me to think that one day I will be in a hospital bed. Slipping in and out of delirium, unable to eat, phlegm accumulating in my throat, gasping, wheezing. Everything in me shutting down.
I am terrified.
